The Essential Apartment is a 50 m² minimalist interior design project in Cluj-Napoca, completed in 2024. The client wanted a full transformation — a before-and-after renovation that would turn a dated, poorly arranged flat into a calm, functional home suited to modern urban living.
Working within a compact footprint, the design prioritises smart space planning above all else. Built-in storage is integrated at every opportunity, keeping surfaces clear and the eye uninterrupted. A carefully edited palette of warm whites, natural stone textures, and matte black accents gives the apartment a timeless quality that resists trends.
The before-and-after gallery below illustrates the full scope of the transformation. This project demonstrates how thoughtful interior design in Cluj-Napoca can completely redefine a space — improving both its aesthetic appeal and its day-to-day functionality — without adding unnecessary square metres.
